Winter on the Garden Route comes alive from 3–12 July 2026 as the iconic Knysna Oyster Festival returns for ten unforgettable days of food, sport, entertainment, and family fun. This year's theme, "A Feast of Family Fun," places families and shared experiences at the heart of one of South Africa's most beloved winter events.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Knysna's lagoon, forests, and coastline, the festival has grown from a small winter tourism initiative into a celebration that attracts thousands of visitors from across South Africa and beyond. Today, it is widely regarded as one of the Garden Route's premier annual events.

While oysters remain the star attraction, the festival offers far more than delicious seafood. Visitors can enjoy a packed program featuring sporting events such as the renowned Knysna Forest Marathon and Knysna Cycle Tour, alongside family fun runs, outdoor adventures, food markets, wine tastings, live entertainment, arts and crafts exhibitions, and interactive activities for children.
